Japanese Meiji Period (1868-1912) wood gold lacquered okimono of an old man on a deer with a flute in his hand, on original wood base. There is a wonderful lacquer work over the okimono and magnificent fine carving over the body and head of the deer. The deer has shibayama inlaid eyes. It has an original age patina.
