It has magnificent shibayama type inlaid silver and lacquer decorations in a shape of Orchids and leafage with outstanding chisel work over three sides of Kodansu and a front door. There are fine sterling silver rims and wide frame with detailed chisel work over Orchids on the top of the Kodansu. The Kodansu has a sterling silver reticulated handle with an original silk cord. you can also see a relief of a lacquer butterfly on the front door, originally silver lock on the door, sterling silver hinges with decorations and finely done sterling handles with rings over the center of each drawer. The signature of the maker is on bottom corner on the back of Kodansu. Silver - 950 mark is on the bottom back rim. Please see the pictures. It is 8 1/4" with a handle down x 5 1/3" wide x 6 1/2" deep.
