Magnificent large Japanese Meiji Period Satsuma Vase attrib. to Chin Jukan with a low relief basket-shaped upper part neck and symbolic stripe line with various decorations of cranes over red and green background.
There are symbolic detailed decorations throughout the vase. The body depicts two large and two smaller decor panels.
One panel shows two men, an incense burner, a stool and suteki. Another panel depicts two men and a boy holding a scroll and a roll with scrolls next to boy's feet, the vase with flowers and blossoms on the base, and paradise birds with open wings. One of the smaller scrolls have tree with leaves and blossoms, a teapot and cups and a writing box with a cord around it; the other smaller scroll depicts a scene of a bamboo vase with flowers and blossoms and an ewer over the base.
It has one small original bake imperfection on the opening occurred during backing.
