Japanese Meiji Period (1868-1912) fine wood and ivory okimono of a shimuzen maker with a bunch of stuff around him, on an original rose wood base. The okimono is carved from boxwood; other items are carved from ivory, such as a hammer and some other tools in his hand; there is a three case kodansu and lot of stuff on it, two scrimshawed boxes (one from horn and another from ivory) , a scrimshawed ivory tool for making a shimuzen in front and a beautiful hibachi made with ivory and wood on a side.
