A Wonderful Large Antique Moonstone Ring Vintage Georgian - Victorian Era, 19th Century. This antique ring is an early piece dating to the late Georgian to Victorian Era with its closed back construction and foiled backed settings. The ring holds a cluster of luminous moonstones, each measuring about 6 x 7-8mm oval. Each stone is closed back and foiled under the stones, a process that was used during this Era. The setting is is made of brass or bronze, possibly some gold alloy and shows signs that early lead solder was used to complete the work. The ring is substantial measuring about 1 1/4 inch across the top. Ring Size: about 8 3/4 - 9 (could be resized by your jeweler or ask me about using mine before shipping). This ring would be amazing on the center or index finger. It is always so romantic to have a piece from this early period. The ring is in wonderful condition for its age with original patina to the setting. A rare find.
