A Wonderful Antique Georgian - Victorian Turquoise Gold Ring with Marcasite Accents, 19th Century. This beautiful ring dates to the 19th Century and is composed of gold and silver with a central turquoise surrounded by marcasites. Marcasites have been used since the 1700's when they were a substitute for diamonds. Diamonds were outlawed for the everyday person, so marcasites were used instead. This ring measures about 5/8 inch long by about 3/4 inch wide from side to side. Ring Size: about 4 3/4 (could be resized by your jeweler or ask me about using mine before shipping). This piece was acquired through an estate collection and is in lovely vintage condition.
