A Gorgeous Antique Color Change Verneuil Sapphire Ring (Alexandrite), Vintage Art Deco, circa 1930-40s, Signed Taxco Silver. This beautiful antique ring holds a beautifully faceted color change verneuil sapphire, often referred to as alexandrite because of the characteristic color charge, measuring about 14mm in diameter. The stone has a color change from more red-violet in artificial light and more blue-violet in the natural light. The setting is beautiful antique Art Deco composed of sterling silver made in Taxco Mexico during the golden age of Taxco designer jewelry. It is marked for Taxco, Sterling, and the old Eagle mark. Overall this ring measures about 3/4 inch long by about 13/16 inch wide from side to side. Ring Size: about 5 1/2 (could be resized by your jeweler or ask me about using mine before shipping). This beautiful ring was acquired through a fine local estate collection and is in lovely vintage condition.
