A Gorgeous Pair of Antique Color Change Sapphire Earrings, Victorian - Art Deco circa 1920. The centers of these earrings hold beautifully faceted color change verneuil sapphire, often referred to as alexandrite because of the characteristic color charge, measuring about 10mm in diameter. The stones have a color change from more red-violet in artificial light and more blue-violet in the natural light. The stones are beautifully set in antique sterling silver with gold gilt filigree settings. Each earring measures about 11/16 inch by 11/16 inch. They have screw backs that can be worn on pierced or unpierced ears. These earrings date to the late Victorian to early Art Deco era, estimated circa 1920's. They were acquired through an estate collection and are in lovely vintage condition.
