| A wonderful example of early Period Jewelry and a rarely seen matched set of earrings. This Antique Georgian Early Emerald and Rose Cut Diamond Earrings with Baroque Pearl Drops dates to the early 19th Century. Each earring holds a beautiful array of Three (3) Antique Rose Cut Diamonds with their wonderful characteristic sparkle. In the center is a natural cabochon cut Emerald gemstone. The tops test to be 18ct Gold and have a bit of an Antique Rose hue. From these magnificent tops hang large genuine Baroque Pearl drops, each measuring approximately 17mm long. The tops have what looks like a Dogs head halmark, which indicates that they are most likley French in origin. Each earring measures about 1 1/2 inches long by about 3/8 inch wide and close with French Clip backings for piereced ears. The tops date to the early 1800's and the large Baroque Pearls were replaced at a later date. These early Antique beauties just do not come along nearly often enough these days, especially a matched pair of earrings. A wonderful Antique Period Find. | ||||||||||
