| ABSOLUTELY EXQUISITE ANTIQUE ART DECO PLATINUM DIAMOND WEDDING RING ETERNITY BAND. This ring is truly an exceptional find. These original Platinum pieces are becoming quite difficult to find and most of the antique pieces are fairly small by today’s standards…a 5 or 6 is fairly common. If this is your size, please do not hesitate on this ring. The ring holds a lovely array of sparkling white Diamonds, Ten (10) in all for an estimated approximate ˝ carat total in Diamond weight (+/-). The band has etching on both sides and all the way around the band in a fleur, stylized flower, motif. The ring is composed of solid high quality PLATINUM, only 5% Iridium alloy in this piece which means that it is almost pure PLATINUM. Most antique pieces are 10% Iridium and I have never seen this high PLATINUM content before, meaning it is very durable and more valuable than pieces with higher alloy content. Most modern day Platinum is watered down with a higher percentage of alloy. The piece has a wonderful weight and is about 3mm wide. The ring is an approximate 7 ˝ and could possibly be made smaller by a skilled jeweler. It appears that is has been enlarged in the back over the years by a skilled jeweler who has simulated the original motif to the back. It is estimated that this piece dates circa 1900 to 1930. A truly remarkable antique piece that will be treasured for a lifetime and become part of the heirlooms that you pass along down through the generations of your own family. | |||||||||
