| A Fabulous Vintage Miriam Haskell Pearl Necklace with French Antique Steel Cut, early 1940's Example. The luster of the baroque art glass pearls is stunning as a signature of Miriam Haskell jewelry. She had her pearls specially produced for her jewelry in Japan in a process that combined natural elements such as fish scales and shell into their highly lustrous finish. The centerpiece was all hand assembled with delicate French antique steel cut beads and metallic art glass elements. The back is finished with filigree. Being unsigned dates this piece to the 1940's Era of Miriam Haskell design. Everything to my eye is complete and in tact on this fantastic example. Bold yet delicate, this piece will be enjoyed for many years to come. It is in excellent vintage condition with some oxidation to the metal components appropriate for a vintage piece of this age. The centerpiece measures about 1 1/2 inches in diameter and the entire necklace measures about 14 1/4 to 15 1/8 inches long depending on how it is hooked on the extender. It is very difficult to find authentic pieces produced before the signature became standard, so this makes this example an extra special find. | ||||||||||||
