| A Wonderful Important Early Taxco Mexican Silver Amethyst Floral Brooch Pin, circa 1940. This piece is dating from the 1940's Era when the great designers such as William Spratling were creating their masterpieces in Taxco Mexico. The brooch features a piece of carved amethyst in the shape of a flower, a design that was used in both Spratling and Fred Davis pieces. The piece is composed of sterling silver, marked Mexico and Silver, and it has the lovely original aged soft patina that a piece only acquired through the passage of time. Overall the piece measures about 2 5/16 inches wide by about 2 1/4 inches long and it closes with the original safety style clasp. A beautiful early example. | |||||||
