One of kind, single supplementary weft embroidered panel, L: 4.63m/14.2ft and W: 36.5cm/13.8in, from the Tujia ethnic group in Guizhou, Southwest China. Its function is a bit of mystery so it being a sling wrap around baby carrier is my best guess. Originally I thought it might be a traditional wedding blanket that would be cut and sewn with three panels together but there is no border pattern woven into this piece as is typical...

Delightful bamboo fly whisk handle from China, Yunnan Province. Great patina with intricate designs consisting of double dorjes, various flowers and seal script Chinese characters- the silver band at the top is new and the piece is circa 90 years old. I was told this was Hani (Akha) but I suspect this was most like from the either Yao or Miao ethnic groups. L: 10.3cm/4in.
