Nice old pre war shop sign from Hong Kong. The characters read Yuan Sheng Tai. It has been suggested to me this from a rice shop, although I am not sure- I am assuming the characters refer to the name of the owner. Very heavy hard wood, weighs about 8kg. H: 98cm/38.5in and W: 44cm/7.2in one chip on upper right hand corner. Lovely old Hong Mu wood with nice grain.

Nice old attractive, pre war Hong Kong shop sign. The left hand characters read (upper) Hong Kong and (lower) Jin Yuan- the name of artisan. The two large characters read Zhi Li. I am not sure what kind of shop this came from but it has been suggested to me it is from either a lumber shop or construction company. In good condition although some of the red and gold lacquer has came off. Very rare these days to find anything, left from Old Hong Kong. H: 37cm/14.5in and L: 74cm/29in.

There is small piece broken off the hexagonal chrysanthemum spool but is in over all good condition for an antique, still functioning artisan’s tool circa. The reservoir and Qiling have been glued back togther. 19th CE...
