Burmese Tiger Bead

Fine and rare bronze age (circa 100 BCE to 400 CE) carnelian zoomorphic “tiger” bead, from Burma- most likely Pyu culture although similar artifacts have been excavated at concurrent Lopburi sites in Thailand and Samon Culture sites in Burma. Please note scale in enlargements is metric, also noted is one chip on the back foot and inclusion on one side. There is one lateral hole drilled th under the neck to above the tail as well as another beneath the front legs on the torso. Quite a few similar pieces have surfaced over the past few years which have shown to be old beads recarved to look like this one, all workmanship on this piece is 100% guaranteed to be of the period as described.
