Pre Khmer Beads

Fine ensemble of very long carnelian and agate late Bronze Age beads (circa 100 CE to 500 CE) from Cambodia. Similar examples (especially of the carnelian) have been excavated through Southeast Asia with datings as early as 200BCE from Yunnan, Dian Culture, suggesting they may have been widely traded over a long period of time. The spacer beads are of the period glass and shell. Some of the beads have a few chips and pits but over all are in excellent condition given their age and fragility. Please note scale in enlargements is metric total length of strand is 92cm/36in.
