Mongolian Buddhist Woodblock

Tibetan Buddhist “windhorse” woodblock with loads of auspicious symbols (trigrams, dorjes etc) for printing small prayer flags about 40 to 50 years old, still perfectly usable (I’ve thought of making cards with this but never got around to it). The “wind horse” has its origins the earlier Bon folk religion but has been incorporated to Tantric art for the past couple of hundred years. I’ve researched a few of interpretations of this symbol, which are quite complex so suffice to say it is to “wish for good luck” Excellent condition originally from Mongolia. 8cm/3.2in x 7.5cm/3in.
