| Very fine etched opalized fern wood bead from the Pyu culture, in what is now Burma who were loose group of Buddhist city states connected by the Irrawady River, circa 300 CE to 700 CE. This is a highly prized heirloom item with the Chin people of Burma and believed to have protective powers. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks, the hole has been drilled from opposite sides until they met in the middle, which is typical of ancient bead making techniques.
