Eclectic small copper bangle from the Khmu (Khamu) ethnic minority in Northern Laos, this is a barter/heirloom item that would be used to trade within the community. These people are the original inhabitants of the region and predate the Lao and Thai peoples. They usually live in remote areas around Luang Prabang and practice simple agriculture, hunting and gathering as well as bartering goods with other neighboring minorities. Good condition, there was some attempt to clean it (but not too much), circa 19th century. W: 5.3cm/2.2in and H: 3.5cm/1.8in.
