| Stunning, fine and rare Jin Dynasty large black bowl with three brown splashes. I have had quite a few examples of this type over the years but this (according to my taste) is probably the finest. Although true black glazes were not developed until the Qing i.e., most black glazes prior to that were just a very dark brown as to appear black. This bowl is as black as they come with three evenly spaced narrow brown splashes with iron oxide paraffin patinas. There is an underglaze which in itself is quite rare that covers the entire bowl and is easily visible below the glaze. Perfect condition! H: 8.4cm/3.3in and D: 18.8cm/7.5in. | ||||||||||
