| Rare Yue glazed, four lugged jar with attractive “iron” spot from the Western Jin Dynasty (265-420). This piece is fully glazed on the outside with some degradation on the inner mouthrim, having said this the glaze is stable with no fritting- there is one tiny chip on edge of mouthrim and a firing chip on the base, which I would deem insignificant on this type of piece. The concave bottom and lack of firing support marks are indicative that this was from a Northern Kiln, possibly Luoyang, Shaanxi rather than Zhejiang. H: 14cm/5.5in and D: 15cm/5.9in. | |||||||||||
