| Fine and rare Iban shaman’s pua circa late 19th to early 20th century, with Burong (Hornbill) design. This miniature pua was used by Sarawak indigenous healers. It is colored with all natural dyes and the thick warp thread suggests that this was woven from native jungle cotton. Acquired on a trip to Sarawak several years ago, this is the only small pua I saw out of over a 100 pieces I looked at, and would be of interest to serious collectors of Iban ikats. L: 120cm/47.5in and W: 52cm/18.5cm. | |||||||||||
