| Very lovely and subtle Ming Dynasty copper tray with engraved deer, prunus, lingzhi and rockery motif. Excellent patina, which must be handled and observed up close to be really appreciated. The shape reflects the Song and Yuan tastes in lacquer and ceramics while the design has the characteristics of the Ming in its tasteful simplicity. There are few dents in the surface, which may be easily seen in enlargements. Included is an interesting contemporary ceramic display stand. 12.5cm diameter. | ||||||||||
