Shan Jambupati Buddha

Very rare Shan bronze Buddha from Burma circa 17th to 18th CE, depicted in “Jambupati” royal attire style. Most of this type coming out of Southeast Asia now I believe to be copies (at least all the ones I have seen the past 4 years were). This one was sourced from an American collection. Some of the tines on the crown and head ornamentation have broken off which occurs on about 80% on the genuine ones. The Shan were the only ones to create the elaborate head gear on their Buddha images and are much sought after by collectors of Buddhist art. Traces of original gilding and a small hole at the base. H: 26cm/10.2in and W: 14.5cm/5.8in (at base).
