| Fine and rare classical old Cambodian silk lower garment, approximately 60 to 90 years old. This piece may be worn either by men or women. It was originally sewn together and stepped into like a sarong skirt however it was given one fold in the front and then twisted from the bottom and pulled between the legs and tucked in the front and secured to the waist with a silk sash or belt to form a pantaloon type garment The frog pattern is very rare and the only one of I have yet to see. Overall this piece is in excellent condition with a couple of minor repairs and pinholes as to be expected by an old piece. A piece of this quality textile would have only been worn by a wealthy upper class Cambodian family of the period. Trying to photograph this on a windy day is fairly problematic so please view enlargements to appreciate its true beauty. The feel to the fabric is very supple and smooth as is only found in old silk textiles. L:3.16m/10.5ft and H: 93cm/3ft. | ||||||||||
