| Fine and rare Buddha, from Laos- Early Late Period circa 1520-1777 CE described by Somkiart Loptecharat in his book Lao Buddha: The Image and its History as “the Golden Age of Lao Buddha images”. This Buddha has a good “white bronze” patina and in excellent condition. Overall Lao Buddhas are very rare compared to Thai ones as they were never made in the enormous quantities that Thai Buddhas were as well as reflecting the individuality of the craftsmen to a greater extent. This one is very unusual as it a "folk image" representation of the Buddha. H: 13.3cm/5.2 and base W: 4.8cm/1.9in.
