| Fine old Laotian Buddha folk image carved from teak with the touching the earth gesture “bhumiparsa. Lao folk or “primitive” Buddhas were made as acts of faith by common people and placed in caves or under trees rather than to adorn a temple. This along with the other recent 5 Buddha folk image listings was sourced in Mae Sai, Thailand, about 6 years ago. Good condition, circa 60 to 80. H: 29cm/11.5in. | |||||||
