| Good Thai Buddha, circa 50 to 60 years old in the classic late Ayutthaya or early Ratanagosin style. This is a very pretty and finely detailed authentic votive piece (as opposed to the copies made for tourists and copies meant to deceive). There are some casting flaws such as a few pits and a crack in the body on the back (most likely a seam from wax cast mold). Please note that many 20th century Thai Buddhas are cast using pre molded sections of wax and applied to the ceramic core in sections rather than actually carving the image on wax as is done in traditional time consuming “lost wax casting” method, having said this it is still wax casting.
