A senor doll motif. Vintage circa 1945 sterling silver pin brooch as a pre assay era figural man with sombrero carrying a crate of 'tomatoes' stamped: SILV MEX - testing at least 90%, tho often these are higher. No doubt by a talented Taxco Mexico Mexican silversmith working in repousse holloware.
The native peoples have been known to make dolls as teaching tools for their children to play.
Note image 4: 2 3/4 X 1 1/8"; the intricate handmade crate contains approximately 11 melons or tomatoes made of coral or glass beads. There is engraving or chasing of the hat, waist, ankles, sandals, etc. Somebody had fun hammering this in the pitch bowl.
Old pre assay roll over safety catch. Very nice preowned vintage condition
