A fine and rare Nineteenth Century Italian carved and inlaid marble portrait bust of a young woman, circa 1860. The figure is worked in Carrera, Sienna, Verde Antico and Rouge marble. The carving is crisp and highly detailed with strong facial expression. The sleeves are intricately inlaid with quatrefoils alternating in rouge and black marble. The Condition: Excellent. Dimensions: Height 21", Depth 11", Width 20". Overall height with pedestal 61". The marble base is modern.
