Mid century set of vase and bowl designed by Mari Simmulson (1911-2000) for Upsala-Ekeby in 1965. Olive and brown glazing. Both pieces have incised pattern. Mari Simmulson was educated at the Art School, Tallin, Estonia; Arabia, Finland; and at the Academy of Visual Art in Germany. Large Charles Catteau art deco stoneware vase designed for Boch Freres Keramis Gres. Catteau (1880-1966) worked for Boch Freres 1906-1948. This vase is from 1923. Egg-shaped with flattened mouth, slip-cast form covered with glazes in beige and grey tones. Drip glaze on the top part. Excellent condition. Fully signed: Gres Keramis (impressed) in black: Ch.
