Up for auction is an antique Chinese Qing Dynasty 19th or early 20th century Manchu imperial 1st rank Mandarin's wife's black silk surcoat with 8 large roundels & 6 small roundels on the sleeves, each eabroidered with a crane, 6 peonies, 3 butterflies; rocks, buddhist auspicious symbols are on the sea waves and standing water ( Lishui), 4 metal ball-and-loop toggle buttons in the front, and it is backed with light green silk lining. The robe is in excellent condition, no frays, no tears, no stainings. Measurements : Top collar to bottom hem 57", Sleeve to sleeve acroos shoulder 64", sleeve width 13", width between arm pits 26" narrowest, width of hem 40" widest.
