A deck of antique Fred Harvey "Souvenir Playing Cards - The Great Southwest" circa 1911-1912. Full deck (52 cards plus a Joker and a Map). Each card displays a different photograph, including destinations, places, and native people of the Southwest. The back of each card shows a scene of Indians on horseback. Golden-edged cards. Southern Cheyenne Rare Dispatch Case. Circa 1880-1890. Sinew sewn, yellow orchre pigment, tin cones suspensions, hide soft and supple. No apparent bead loss. The reverse hide, showing drawings of that were never finished, may have been recycled from an earlier southern plains piece. Measures 10 1/2" by 9 1/4" without suspensions; and 14" at the longest end suspensions.
