Circa 1880. Extremely rare beaded Apache necklace. Made from a rifle shell to hold contraband, including, but not limited to, bullets on the reservation. Provenance: Obtained at Fort Sill from an Apache Indian Agent in the early 1900s. Descended in the family of James Crawford, Oklahoma Territory. Anadarko, OK.
