Tamba Vase by Sueharu Nishihata (Born 1926) father of well-renowned potter Tadashi Nishihata (Born 1948). Often times it's hard to differentiate Bizen from Tamba. For Tamba vs. Bizen, Tamba works usually have more of a purplish and metallic tone as seen on this stately jar by veteran potter Nishihata Sueharu, father of Tadashi. It has a confident form--reminiscent of old Korean henko jars--and classic Tamba firing. In perfect condition with his signature on base. Original box included.
