OBJECT GROUP : rings COUNTRY OF ORIGIN : Although it does not carry any legible control marks we believe it is of French origin. STYLE : Victorian PERIOD : 1900 THEME : Tourbillon - This kind of ring is designated in French by the name ‘Tourbillon’ which translates in English to 'twirler' or 'twister', obvious because of its original design. MATERIAL : 18K yellow gold and platinum, although most of this jewel is in yellow gold, the diamonds are set in platinum. This finds it origin in a much older period where it was common for diamonds to be set in silver (see explanation on silver on gold). DIAMONDS : Eleven rose cut diamonds. We do not have the weight of the diamonds which is normal in our trade when it comes to rose cuts.
