| This is a rare pair of day and night earrings from mid 19th century Mexico. The day portion of the earrings features a split natural pearl set in a 22k yellow gold flower. The night portion of the earrings features rows of rubies, most likely imported from India, set in a cone of 22k yellow gold, embellished with small articulated natural pearls. These earrings came directly from the estate of a great great great grandmother and were part of her wedding trousseau in the 1850's. They measure 45 mm in length and 15 mm at the widest part of the flower. The earring back has been replaced by a substantial 14k modern backing, which keeps the earrings properly in place. This pair of hand crafted earrings is one-of-a-kind! | ||||||
