| This is a 19th century Tibetan cast bronze ritual hat. The hat is decorated with five skulls, four on the brim encircling the crown and one in the center on top of the crown. Each skull on the brim has silver plated ornaments attached to its sides and top and each of the top ornaments is set with a single gemstone. The skull on the crown has a taller and more elaborate top showing six characters of incantation. Eight emblems of Buddhism decorate the crown. The interior is lined with silk. The hat is in very good condition. Height: 45.7 (18 inches) Diameter: 40.7 (16 inches) Weight: 6620 grams. Remark: The silver used for plating may not be pure. | ||
