Free-form, roughly circular Japanese bamboo basket by Suemura shobun(1917-2000). Beautiful lines and rounded form are made of delicate, dark colored bamboo. This fine and beautiful bamboo flower basket was woven flatten thin bamboo. The design can be found in the works of Hounsai who worked in the west of Japan between Taisho(1912-1926) and the beginning of Showa(1926-1989). 11 1/2 in. (29cm) high by 16 1/2 in.
