| Wonderful Bamboo basket by Shiraishi Hakuunsai. Stacked bamboo strips are woven into rounded shape and beautifully dark colored bamboo makes it has profound feeling, strips woven in the body becomes rope plaited rim on the top. Circular bottom is woven in the hexagonal mutsu-me-ami and bottom color is a little darker than the body. Signed by Hakuunsai on the bottom, with tomobako, excellent condition, showa period, size height 18.5cm and width 35cm. Shiraishi Hakuunsai(1918-2012): Hakuunsai is one of the great recent years weavers born and based in Oita prefecture. Hakuunsai studied under his father, won Nitten prizes for several times. | ||||||||||
