Beautiful, cool blue seiji celadon mizusashi with black lacquer lid by award winning Japanese potter; Ono Kotaro(b. 1953). Ono has won numerous awards for his carved porcelain works including the prestigious Mashiko Ceramics Competition (for which he was awarded the Hamada Shoji Prize)...

Very nice catalogue of the works of Tomimoto kenkichi, Ningen Kokuho. Tomimoto was Living National Treasure of Japan for his meticulously painted enamel porcelains...

Porcelain smoking set by Kutani master, Suda Seika II (1892-1971). Using sometsuke underglaze blue and iro-e overglaze enamels, the two pieces are matched in motif of two koi, chest to chest. Circa 1960.

This highly animated and perfection in porcelain vase was made by Hokkaido native; Ono Kotaro. The deeply carved seiji vase is actually has a very pale yellow crazed glaze which collects on the ridges and further accentuates the cyclone like movement of this pot. As you look around the vase, the deep ridges bring the eye up the pot and it actually appears to be in motion...

Lyrical and whimsical porcelain tsubo by Ishira Akira with overglaze enamels in red, yellow, green and Persian blue decorating the pure white surface. The surface is covered in red enamel, aka-e style creating a floral framework for the three rabbits articulated around the circumference of the pot with accents in other shades of enamel. The brushwork is easily seen and studied and shows a delft and exceedingly experienced hand.

Elegant and rare Ouji celadon chawan by master potter, Ono Kotaro. The interior is carved with a wispy and lyrical floral decoration and the exterior has lotus blossom leaves surrounding the base, around the footring. The Ouji glaze is a very pretty but subtle yellow celadon in person.

This chawan measure 14 x 7cm and is in perfect condition with its original signed box.
