Wangata style teabowl with fluid dark and light cobalt decoration decorating the exterior of the chawan. Showing both Seto and Annam styles, this chawan by Nakajima Mokusen (b. 1955) has a very poetic appearance and is a very functional teabowl.

This chawan is in fine condition, was made in 2003 and has its original signed box, measuring 4.9" x 3.25".

Lyrical Toruko-ao Persian style chawan with underglaze decoration of birds and flora around the outside of the bowl with a gold decorated lip and clear glazed interior. This chawan was made by Koizumi Zoho at his family kiln which he claims to go back over 650 years. It is a nice Persian bowl with a Kyoto-yaki style feel to it.

This chawan measures5.5" x 2.75" and comes complete with its original signed box...

Zenga style conical summer teabowl with a attractive Jun glaze over stoneware with calligraphy on the exterior of the bowl; SEI DAI JI and then in a column, DAI Chawan (great chawan). This chawan was made at the Seidaiji temple and is reminiscent of earlier Chinese temmoku and yuteki chawan in form with a Jun glaze that has a visually soft and appealing appearance.

This chawan is stamped as well as signed and is in fine condition with out a box and measures 5.5" x 2.5".

Small Shigaraki kake-ire hanging vase made by Uda Rakuzan. The small uzukumaru like form, intentionally deformed with the face covered in ash and charcoal effects and an incised decoration around the should of the pot. the rear has hi-iro effects and a metal hanger.

This vase is in fine condition but does not have a box. The vase measures 4.5" x 4.8".

Pair of mentori, faceted style vases by Shigaraki master potter, Kohyama Yasuhisa (b. 1936). The vase on the left side of the photos is an early Shigaraki mentori vase that was wood fired in his first anagama kiln, the vase on the right is a Hakuyu glazed vase, glazed with a Hagi style white glaze which Kohyama uses to this day on his "standard ware" functional pottery...

Wonderful and intricate ash glazed plate by Ningen Kokuho (Juyo Mukei Bunkazai) Shimaoka Tatsuzo. This large plate, hachi, is absolutely genuine and has all of the characteristics of Shimaoka, from clay, glaze and foot (kodai). This plate measures 12.25” X 2.25. The intricate design is first hand carved and then inlaid with white slip, which is later scrapped off to reveal the pattern. Once glazed, the hachi had Shimaoka's trademark iron brushwork applied to complete the design...

This medieval style chawan has a rich, fluid coating of glassy ash covering the entire face and most of the interior of the bowl with a vivid, green pool of ash as a centerpiece for the viewer/user.
