Lovely and rich blue and white, sometsuke plate set by Juyo Mukei Bunkazai; Kondo Yuzo. This sometsuke set is made of porcelain with underglaze gosu blue, each plate is decorated with a kaki-zu, persimmon design and is signed on the reverse.
Living National Treasure,Kondo Yuzo was arguably, the one of the finest sometsuke artists of the 20th century. He is most readily identified with his persimmon design, akin the Hamada Shoji and his sugercane motif. This plates are in perfect condition with their original signed box and measure approx. 4.3" X 4.3" each. ***** The underglaze blue is much richer than there photos show and is by far much nicer in person***** |
