Wonderful, rich Nezumi-Shino chawan with "Sengai's Universe" design of the enigmatic Zen symbols of the circle/square/triangle showing through the iron glaze and slip as an evocative white decoration on either side of the bowl. this chawan with its classic Momoyama presence, active interior, rich glaze cells and well addressed foot is by legend and veteran Mino potter; Mizuno Taizo. Adept at a wide array of Mino styles, Taizo excels at this style of Nezumi-Shino and occasionally used Zen motifs.
