Uraguchi is practically a household name when it comes to a plethora of celadon styles, he was fortunate to be the singular student of the late Ningen Kokuho, Miura Koheiji and his works are part Miura, part Okabe Mineo and yet entirely his own idiom. His creations of both classic traditionalism and architectonic sculptural vessels has paved his way to a brilliant future and even the potential for one day rising to the heights of his master, Ningen Kokuho. Uraguchi is a master of technical and artistic perfection who has displayed a singular dedication to his vision of how celadon should be used in modern times. His works are have been displayed all over Japan and around the world and his pottery has been illustrated in a wide array of publications and books. Simply put, Uraguchi is synonymous with the world of modern Japanese celadon.
