This classic mizusashi has everything one could want from Karatsu; a timeless form, a perfect nuka surface and exceptional E-Garatsu style iron underglaze painting by a master potter and arguably the greatest living Karatsu artist. This pot could easily be a 17th century piece though the unmistakable mark of a master 20th century potter is ever present. The beautiful Karatsu chirimen kodai is what sets this pot apart from most and Tanaka Sajiro creates a foot like no other.
This mizusashi and custom lacquer lid are in excellent condition and measures 6.8" x 9.8" without the lid. The mizusashi comes complete with its original signed box and elaborately signed tea cloth. Currently, mizusashi by Tanaka Sajiro cost over 1.2 million yen if you can find them.
