Serene and noble seihakuji koro by veteran and master potter Kishimoto Kennin. Published in an exhibition catalogue for a Takashimiya show (a xerox of the relevant pages are included) this seihakuji celadon koro is a classic example of Kishimoto's style and modernization of a traditional form. This koro is in excellent condition except one of the wing-like appendages was unfortunately damaged and has been repaired, please see the attached photo showing both sides of the area in question. The koro measures 9" x 6" and comes complete with a special signed box with storage for the body and lid separated by a removable shelf.

Kishimoto has been making pots since the early 1950’s and is well know for a wide variety of wares that he has made including Shigaraki, Iga, Iga-Oribe, celadons and Ki-Seto. He has mastered each style he has turned his attention to. Well displayed, exhibited and published, Kishimoto is highly collected in Japan and the west.
