| Russian Icon on wood panel in hand crafted box-glass in box is gone-box has hinged door--icon has mysterious quality as it depicts the eyes of God associated with the four evangelists with depictions of Christ in several modes centered in and around a circle-some wear to surface-re-enforced with staves at bottom and top edges-icon is attached later to box on back with modern screws without damage to icon-can be easily removed-this is a complicated icon with fine details and it explains why special attention was made to preserve it in a box-12 inches by 10.25 inches-add 2 inches all around for box | |||||||||||||
