This is an extremely old, solid 830 sterling silver wine cup / goblet. There are no hallmarks, but this cup is dated to the late 16th century, or very early 17th (c1590-1610). The style is very early Hungarian design, but it was possibly made in Transylvania. The cup has a soldered base which is slightly pushed up. It has the look and construction of a 16th century cup. The body of the cup has ornate chased patternwork. This is an extremely rare antique goblet and could also be used as a small vase.
