| Stunning velvet batik framed by maroon satin by Alexandra Korsakoff Galston. The velvet measures 36 1/2 inches high x 19" wide. The satin frame measures 45" high x 29 1/2" wide. Some areas need resewing to the satin frame. The velvet is in excellent condition - some spots on the satin frame. (Alexandra was born in the Crimea, Russia in 1884 and died in Washington, D.C in 1969. She lived in Peking, China, St. Petersburg, Russia and Munich, Germany where she studied art later moving to the United States)(a more thorough biography is available). She is a listed artist. We have several more batiks by Alexandra, some signed and some with original exhibition labels. These batiks are on consignment from Alexandra's daughter. Thanks for visiting our shop! | ||
